Every four years, the world gets a call it can’t ignore.

2026 was Motorola’s first World Cup as Official Smartphone Partner, on a stage already owned by giants. Coca-Cola had the rituals. Adidas had the players. Motorola had neither their budget nor their IP, and it had to sell phones without selling specs.

It started with a one-day sprint built for this project, to fix global misalignment before any creative began. With the key stakeholders in one room, we pressure-tested assumptions, agreed on the human truth and locked a single territory. The day ended with a direction every market could build from.

The truth: every four years the world gets a calling, and Motorola is the brand that taught the world to answer one. Football is Calling became the global platform, led by a 60-second film. Three moments where logic loses, on a Moto G, a Razr and an Edge, each ending on the same screen: Incoming call, FIFA World Cup. The brand picks up with the sound that made it famous. Hello Moto.

The system was built to flex from day one. A modular visual language, regional cuts that say soccer in North America and football everywhere else, and assets that carry into product stories, social, retail and in-store experiences.
